LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Head Concierge Rob Shorter

Head concierge Rob Shorter explains why the Royal Garden Hotel is the perfect place to stay to make the most of your trip to London.

Come to a five-star hotel in London, and you can expect fantastic food, top quality rooms and excellent service. What doesn’t come as standard is a fantastic location.

At the Royal Garden Hotel, however, you are perfectly placed to enjoy the very best of the capital, whatever the weather and whatever you want to do.

Just a fifteen-minute drive from Victoria and Paddington stations and half an hour from King’s Cross, it’s quick and easy to get to and from the hotel, and with our chauffeur service offering airport transfers to Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton as well as station transfers you can take the stress out of the beginning and end of your break.

Kensington Gardens

One of the best things about staying at the Royal Garden Hotel is the proximity to both Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. For those with kids or just anyone wanting to relax, the acres of beautiful parkland right on our doorstep are a great space to get from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Similarly, being situated right in the heart of Kensington means we are within a stones throw of the Royal Albert Hall and some great bars and restaurants on Kensington High Street. A leisurely stroll from Notting Hill, the local area comprises some of the most beautiful parts of London, and with Harrods and Portobello road both easily accessible, anyone wanting to indulge in some retail therapy is well catered for.

Busy, but with an almost villagey feel, areas such as Kensington, Gloucester Road and Notting Hill are family friendly, but packed with options with evening entertainment, and I would seriously recommend checking out Holland Park, an often overlooked gem, just over a mile from the hotel.

With theatreland just 20 minutes away; keep an eye out for Deathtrap at the Noel Coward Theatre on St Martin’s Lane and Hit Me! The Life and Rhymes of Ian Drury at the Garrick Theatre on Charing Cross Road, both starting early next month.

Jersey Boys Theatre Show

As for the big shows in town, I’m a huge fan of Jersey Boys and War Horse – two of the most popular shows going on at the moment and would recommend to anyone. Tickets for both shows are pretty tough to come by, so pop down to the Concierge desk if you need any help sorting out your night out.

Of course, you could also stay local instead!

Read Rob’s blog every month for the latest information on the best things to do and see across the capital.
